The subject of the mail should mention subject of query.

If you have already registered your application for admissions, then please indicate your Application Registration Number (CET Number) and Name.

Incomplete and vague emails will not be attended to. Queries should be sent to the designated E-mail ID only.

Admissions through IMU CET is only for Indian National.  For foreign students, admissions to IMU Campuses for Undergraduate Programmes and Postgraduate Programmes will be done through “Direct Admission to Student’s from Abroad (DASA) Scheme” of Ministry of Education, Govt of India.

Each year the Ministry nominates a Central University/ Institute to become the nodal agency to coordinate all admission related matters.

The incentives for NCC A, B & C level certificate holders have been newly introduced.

Residential Programmes are the courses for which the students have to stay compulsorily in the Hostel. Accommodation in the Hostel will be given by IMU Campuses for these students. No request for opting for residing outside for residential programmes will be accepted.

Sponsorship is not required for joining any course in IMU Campuses. Only for joining DNS Programme in Affiliated Institutes, Sponsorship is required.

The candidates joining Marine Programmes (BTech (Marine Engineering) / BSc (Nautical Science) / Diploma in Nautical Science (DNS)/ PG Diploma in Marine Engineering (PGDME) ) are strongly advised to have Passport or at least apply for the Passport at the time admission to these courses. Passport  is not mandatory for other courses.  

The candidates applying for Marine Programmes (BTech (Marine Engineering) / BSc (Nautical Science) / Diploma in Nautical Science (DNS)/ PG Diploma in Marine Engineering (PGDME) must be Physically Fit as per the medical fitness standards and guidelines issued by the office of DG(Shipping). They have to meet all the Physical Fitness conditions, especially the Eye Sight conditions, as per the guidelines. They have to submit at the time of admission, when selected, the Physical Fitness Certificate issued by a Doctor approved by DG(Shipping).

Candidates joining other courses have to submit a General Physical Fitness Certificate issued by a Registered Medical Practitioner, at the time of admission, when selected.

A candidate has to register at IMU Portal for getting admission to:

i.Various UG Programmes at IMU Campuses & its Affiliated Institutes.
ii.Various PG Programmes and Research Programmes (Ph.D./ MS By Research) at IMU Campuses.

Candidate can apply through Online mode only. The links will be made available in the Admissions Page of IMU Website at https://www.imu.edu.in

Online Computer based Common Entrance Test (IMU-CET) will be conducted for admissions to all the courses except BBA.  It can be a Centre Based Test or Proctored mode Test.

Yes. There is a concession in Application Registration Fees and relaxation in educational eligibility criteria for SC/ST Category Candidates (Please refer Academic/Admission Brochure available at : https://www.imu.edu.in)

Yes. There will be an option of Forgot Password, using which the password can be reset.

Multiply the Grade Point by  9.5 in order to get the equivalent percentage marks. For example, if your CGPA is 8,  then the equivalent percentage marks will be 8 x 9.5, that is 76%.

If 12th Std results are yet to be declared, then you have to choose “Result awaited” option. However, he/she may need to fill the Roll No, Board details etc in the Application Form.

Yes. NIOS passed candidates are eligible.  They should have passed all the subjects through NIOS and not in multiple Boards.

The students who have completed 12th Std Examinations conducted by unrecognized Boards,  which are classified as Fake Board by Ministry of Education,  are not eligible to apply for admissions to IMU Programmes. Such candidates,  even if they apply, will later face cancellation of their candidature without any fees refund. The list of approved Qualifying Examinations / Boards,  for admission to UG Programmes is  given in the Academic Brochure.

Age Criteria will be determined as on course-start date or as mentioned in the Academic Brochure of that year. Generally it is 1st August. If the Candidate does not fulfill the Age requirement as per dates mentioned above, they will not be considered for admission. Request for consideration of relaxation in  age will not be entertained.

No. Rounding-off is not permitted. For example, 59.6% will not be rounded to 60%.

It may also be noted that the calculation of PCM Average will be done by first converting the marks secured in individual subjects to percentage marks and then the PCM average will be calculated. The concept of Total Marks secured I  PCM / Total Marks for PCM  is not applicable.  

Once application form is successfully submitted, there is no way to correct the same. In this  case, candidate has to apply afresh with correct details using new email id and mobile number.

The online application form consists of three parts, namely- entering Personal Details, Academic Details and making online Payment towards Application Registration Fee.  Candidate has to complete all these three parts and then submit the completed application. Then a candidate Dash Board will appear, from which he/she can download a copy of  the filled-in application form for reference and record.

No. Candidate has to apply separately for UG (Technical Courses) and BBA Programme with requisite fees, if they desire to apply for both. They are two different forms.

NO. The hard copy of the application is not required to be sent to IMU. Any hard copy sent to IMU will not be accepted.

Yes. IMU-CET is held for admissions to UG (Technical Courses). Only for BBA course there will not be any CET.  However the BBA candidate has to register in admission portal.

When the marks are required to be entered in the online application form, that has to be filled online. When Certificates are required to be uploaded through the Portal, then the Digi-locker file can be upload.

Category Certificate has to be uploaded while filling the Online Application Form for Registration.  If the candidate is having any General-EWS/OBC(NCL)/SC/ST Certificate that was issued earlier, which is now pending  for the renewal, then the currently available copy  can be uploaded. However, it is with the he condition that he will produce the latest original copy of the certificate before admission. In case a candidate does not have  a category certificate and if he has applied for the certificate for the first time, then he cannot avail the benefit of reservation and should fill the application accordingly.  

No. If the Candidate does not possess the required PCM Average, he will not be eligible for admission even if he gets qualified in the CET. 

There is no interview, but CET Qualified Candidates have to participate in Online Counselling for  admissions to IMU Campuses. 

If both the forms are successfully submitted,  then  the candidate will be having two  Application Numbers and two Hall Tickets.   The candidate can appear for CET using only one Application Number. The candidate will be solely responsible if he has selected the wrongly filled application form. Hence the candidate has to be careful while filling online Application Form.  IMU will not refund the Application Fee for the duplicate form.
