Celebration of International Day of the Seafarers at IMU Kochi Campus
The occasion of International Day of the Seafarers, Indian Maritime University, Kochi Campus & Mariners Society Kochi organized a plantation drive. The Chief Guest for the event was N. Ravi (Commander Coast Guard, District HQ No. 4 Kochi) and the Guest of Honour was Capt. Joseph Alappat (Deputy Conservator, Cochin Port Trust). Prof. Dr. K.A. Simon (President, Mariners Society), presided over the meeting and Mr. V.V. Paul (Engineer & Ship Surveyor cum Dy Director General(Tech), MMD, Cochin) felicitated the event. NMC Nair (Member, Mariners Society) offered the vote of thanks.
IMU Kochi Campus, Campus Director, Mr. Mohammed Shaji welcomed the distinguished guests. Everyone along with the cadets of School of Nautical Studies participated in the drive enthusiastically and helped each other in planting the saplings.
Celebration of World Environment Day at IMU Chennai Campus
In commemoration of World Environment Day, the School of Marine Engineering & Technology, IMU CC, in collaboration with the Mahatma Gandhi National Council of Rural Education, organized a sapling planting activity -"Reinforcing Greenery on Campus" on 02.06.2022.
In the gracious presence of our Honourable Director, IMU CC, 72 Cadets (II and III Years) and 9 Faculty / Staff Members actively participated in the ceremony.
The School of Marine Engineering and Technology (SMET), IMU Chennai Campus hosted a 'COLLOQUIUM' a two-hour interview event organized by the official college magazine of SMET, IMU Chennai campus - 'Purple Stripes' with the distinguished guest Shri CV Subbarao, Managing Director, Sanmar Shipping, in the headquarters campus of Indian Maritime University, Chennai.
The event was graced by the distinguished presence of Dr. Rajoo Balaji, Director, IMU Chennai, Dr. K. Sivasami, Head - SMET IMU CC and faculty of IMU CC.
Indian Maritime University celebrated the 59th National Maritime Day on 05.04.2022 by organizing various programmes in all the campuses.
IMUrmi 2022 Students Fest
In 2022, Indian Maritime University organized the grand in person student's cultural feast IMUrmi 2.0 for the Maritimes Training Institutes. The feast was organized on April 24th, 2022. There were 4 zones and the participants from the affiliated colleges went to their zonal IMU campuses. The in person events were held in four campuses of IMU,i.e. Chennai Campus, Kochi Campus, Kolkata Campus and Navi Mumbai Campus. There were a total of 15 events which tested the all round skills of the students. More than 1500 students from IMU campus and affiliated colleges across India enthusiastically participated in the cultural feast.
