The MoU was officially signed by Dr. Rajoo Balaji, Pro Vice-Chancellor for IMU (representing the Vice Chancellor), and Shri Gaigongdin Panmei, Principal Director General for NACIN. The signing ceremony took place in the presence of several distinguished officials, including Smt. Aruna Narayan Gupta, Member of the Central Board of Indirect Tax and Customs, along with Additional Director Generals Dr. M.G. Thamizh Valavan and Dr. Ezhilmathi K. Also present were Shri K. Saravanan, Registrar of IMU, and Dr. P.J. Rangachari, Director of the IMU Chennai Campus, as well as other senior officials from both institutions. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between the Indian Maritime University (IMU) and the National Academy of Customs, Indirect Taxes, and Narcotics (NACIN) marks an important collaboration aimed at enhancing the operational and enforcement capabilities of Customs officers engaged in maritime activities. The partnership, signed at IMU HQ, Chennai, will significantly boost the Marine Customs Training Centre, enhancing the knowledge and skills of CBIC officers in maritime enforcement. This collaboration between IMU and NACIN aims to provide specialized training, improving operational capabilities and fostering institutional synergy between the two organizations.
