The Indian Maritime University Kochi Campus celebrated Hindi Fortnight from September 1 to 17, 2024, featuring a variety of engaging events that highlighted the richness of the Hindi language and culture.
The festivities began on September 2 with a Hindi Extempore Speech Competition, where Mr. Saurav Ghosh won first prize. Leading up to this, daily "Hindi Quote of the Day" displays were showcased from September 1 to 15.
On September 4, a Hindi essay writing competition for office staff took place, with Ms. Shabnam Parveen, Assistant Professor-SNS, taking first place. This was followed by an essay writing competition for students on September 6, in which Ms. Shreya Kumari, a second-year B.Sc. (NS) student, secured the top position.
The poetry recitation competitions added to the excitement: on September 9, office staff participated, and once again, Ms. Shabnam Parveen triumphed. The next day, September 10, students showcased their skills in a poetry recitation competition, with Mr. Aman Semwal, a second-year B.Sc. (NS) student, winning first prize.
The celebration concluded on September 17 with a closing ceremony featuring an address by Captain S. K. Pathak, followed by the announcement of competition results and awards for the winners. Mr. Rudra Ranjan delivered a vote of thanks, bringing the successful celebration to a fitting close.
