IMU Chennai Campus had the privilege of welcoming Commander Abhilash Tomy, KC, NM (Retd) to the Indian Maritime University Chennai Campus. A retired Indian Navy officer, he's a pioneer in solo sailing, being the first Indian to circumnavigate the world under sail. His remarkable journey includes competing in the 2018 Golden Globe Race and achieving a podium finish in the 2022 race. Welcomed today (01.05.2024) by the Vice Chancellor Dr. Malini V Shankar, his interaction with our cadets and staff was truly inspiring.
