Overview

IMU has geared to offer a two-year online MBA in Maritime Management for seafarers with Certificates of Competency (CoC). The curriculum provides a comprehensive understanding of maritime issues to seafarers who have acquired extensive experience at sea. It addresses the unique challenges that seafaring professionals face by improving their management skills and gaining industry knowledge online.

The Programme has been structured to bring in working knowledge to professionals already engaged in shipping ashore and also provide the underpinning knowledge to those sailing and aspiring to pursue a shore-based career in shipping.

Eligibility

  • For admission to the online MBA Maritime Management programmes at IMU, candidates must hold a Certificate of Competency (CoC) issued by the Government of India. Specifically, candidates should have the following certifications (as applicable to Navigation or Engineering Streams):

    • Masters Foreign Going (FG) and have obtained any degree as given under the head: Eligibility.   
    • Marine Engineering Officer (MEO) Class I (Chief Engineer) and have obtained any degree recognised by UGC, Government of India.
    • Candidates must possess a solid foundation in maritime competencies, aligning with the programme's objective to attract professionals with seafaring or industry experience.
    • The University shall do the admission process for applicants. The Verification of the applicant's credentials shall include the following documents/certificates, as applicable. These are to be produced in original at the time of counselling/admissions:

    Degree Certificate (Recognised by UGC, Government of India)

    • Marks Sheet(s) for the above Degree
    • CoC issued by DGS or Equivalent
    • Community Certificate
    • Any other documents/certificates may be stipulated from time to time by the University.
    • Open to All Ages
