MBA in Maritime Management programme helps the maritime experts to bridge the gap between maritime experience and management skills. IMU's commitment to fostering a well-rounded understanding of maritime management also prepares seafarers for diverse career paths within the broader maritime and logistics landscape. Maritime professionals seeking to enhance their career paths through participation in this initiative will also see avenues for academic pursuits.
IMU has geared to offer a two-year online MBA in Maritime Management for seafarers with Certificates of Competency (CoC). The curriculum provides a comprehensive understanding of maritime issues to seafarers who have acquired extensive experience at sea. It addresses the unique challenges that seafaring professionals face by improving their management skills and gaining industry knowledge online.
The Programme has been structured to bring in working knowledge to professionals already engaged in shipping ashore and also provide the underpinning knowledge to those sailing and aspiring to pursue a shore-based career in shipping.
For admission to the online MBA Maritime Management programmes at IMU, candidates must hold a Certificate of Competency (CoC) issued by the Government of India. Specifically, candidates should have the following certifications (as applicable to Navigation or Engineering Streams):
